To the south would include Windber, Davidsville, Boswell, Jerome, Hollsopple up to Somerset (25 mi). Windber is a small town just beyond Richland Twp. It has the Windber Medical Center & Research Institute and the breast care center for women's health and a hospice. It's mainly a blue-collar coal mining town and has good schools. The other towns are quite rural and many commute to bigger areas for work. Somerset is the county seat, right on the turnpike.

Hope that helps you get started on your research.
Thank you for all the information. The above areas are where we had our sights set. My son lives in Jackson Township and want to be in the close vicinity.

Loved your personal profile. May I ask what church you attend?

Hi Mams,

You're information was very helpful ~ thank you!

We are looking more toward the south. My son lives in Jackson Township and we want to be within 15-20 minutes of him and Johnstown since that is where we would need to find work. We work in the aerospace industry and undersatnd there are several manufacturing companies in the area.

I peeked around your profile and saw all the pictures you have of Johnstown, very nice. Would you mind telling me what church you attend. I'll be looking for a church in the area.

Thanks so much for you input.

I love reading the "try not to be biased/lived here all my life" bs. Fact-johnstown is dying, never replaced mill jobs w anything except healthcare. Fact, when "murtha walked on water" all the living wage jobs went to his buddies, and the houses those ppl rented now sit empty. Fact- all the other jobs he wrangled into that pissant town drs, etc, all started at min wage. The town has been on state welfare since 92, and is getting bounced because the ppl there still think its 1980, and have no vision/are afraid of change. Fact- the airport, that's only open because of fed welfare and a handful of ppl use, goes NOWHERE except DC. Not pgh, or Philly or chi, just DC. And BTW, DC and balt are 3 he's drive, not 5 or 6(unless you're driving miss daisy)
