I often go to Bay bluffs to clear my mind; I quite like it there. The bluffs are pretty limited, though, and you can only get about an hour out of them. Has anyone discovered any other places like this in Pensacola? I kind of prefer a bit more than just a narrow path that leads into the depths of a closed in woods with no real scenery. Bay Bluffs has the water, railroad tracks, open skies, boardwalk (but you can "off-road" as well), and more. Thanks!

Fort Pickens would be my choice. Nothing is nicer than parking down by the pier and walking around the Point.

Ah yes, Fort Pickens is quite nice. I want to get the night owl pass. I have a few buddies who don't mind giving me the code but it changes every month and you must retrieve it in person and they don't always go get it.

Anyone know of any other places?

I wish I knew more places, I'd like to get the bicycles out but most of the paths ive seen are on the highway which seems dangerous knowing traffic here.

It's a little to the Northeast, but there are a lot of trails in Blackwater River State Forest up by Milton.

Are you talking about SR 87? I used to go that way to work, are there any paths that aren't connected to the public roads?

UWF has a short nature trail. It's boarded as well with a few trails leading off. I will have to try the Bluffs. Are there no rails to trails types of trails around?

the boardwalk around uwf has an opening that leads to more hiking trails. Its mostly for mountain bikers but they are scarce close to uwf. The "real" entrance is off of Pate Rd (almost to Plant Crist power plant) so they mostly stick to that area. CROSS-COUNTRY FREE-RIDE TECHNICAL MOUNTAIN BIKING TRAILS PENSACOLA FLORIDA PORC P.O.R.C. There's a trail off of Avalon near Garcon Point Bridge http://www.floridahikes.com/garconpoint
Its ok, can be soggy after a rain. you can also do sections of the Florida Trail: Home | Florida Trail Association

I also hear ECUA has a boardwalk thats supposed to be nice: Emerald Coast Utilities Authority - Bayou Marcus Nature Trail
