PUTNAM COUNTY -- Animal rescue group AARF (All About Rescue and Fixin') will hold a special adoption of black animals this Saturday, Sept. 5, and next Saturday, Sept. 12, at PETCO from noon until 6 p.m. "It's always the black dogs and the black cats and the black kittens who are last to be adopted. Black puppies typically go pretty quick but then they get to be big, black dogs and people put them in shelters," said Jennifer Farley, AARF director.
Yeh, I think we're far enough away from Halloween that they're not too concerned at the moment.
Glad they're doing that. I've still got a black lab foster that I pulled off the euth line at 8 weeks old. He's almost a year old now. Not a single bite from anyone on adopting him. And he's such an amazing dog. It's so sad.
yep .... dave is mostly black and his sister who was in the next kennel is solid black.... both in the shelter from the time they were 1 day old..... both are now 10 months old......
