How easy is parking in zoned areas? What about Bella Vista or Grad Hospital? Can we have one car? Are there any ramps with monthly parking?

I lived in center city with a car for over 10 years (in Washington Sq West, & Fitler Sq). Finding a spot can be challenging until you learn the tricks, but it's really not so bad if you're not driving every day (and we drove maybe once a week at the most).

Once you find a spot in your permit zone you can leave your car there pretty much indefinitely, which is nice. As opposed to here in NY where you need to move it multiple times a week or get big tickets and stickers on your windows...ug.

I do zoned parking in Graduate Hospital. My experience is if I get home before 5PM I can park on my block (19th and Bainbridge). If it's later, I can park within 2 blocks. In general, parking after 6PM becomes pretty difficult and I try to never move my car on Sundays-Saturdays during the day are fine. Since I only use my car for work and get home before 5, it works well.

In Graduate Hospital, the only parking garage I know of is at 17th and South and seems overpriced.

I don't know Bella Vista as well but I used to park in Hawthorne (2 years ago) and parking was always plentiful there.
