Agreed, it is actually a very friendly city. much more friendly in the city than in suburban areas, where people generally try to minimize human contact. philly gets a bad reputation because eagles fans booed santa clause once.

And this is as unfair a claim as suggesting that everyone in Philly is rude. I always find it ironic when people want to set others straight on one generalization by making another one.

You go downtown to any big city in this country, you will find the same thing. Some people are friendly and some people are not. If you approach people the right way ,you will find most people friendly. There will always be a few unfriendly JERKS where ever you go.

That's one peach of a run-on sentence.

Most areas of the city is rundown with downtown being partially fixed but has along way to go. It's sure a lot better than a decade ago when no one wanted to go to Philadelphia. There are a lot of crimes in this city, still. You're right about that! My girlfriend lives in Center City, and worries about flash mobs and thugs victimizing people. She's scared to venture out her condo when we go out to eat.
