“We have a huge problem with shoplifters here,” Carney tells Philly Mag. “Literally every day, multiple times a day, and when you confront people when you catch them stealing, they just laugh at you and say, ‘That’s OK, I’ll just be back tomorrow.’ It’s crazy. I’ve never seen anything like it anywhere before. But this is the first time that we’ve had a purse stolen.”

I wish you could use force on people like that...
He doesn't need 'force' used on him, he needs help with his disease of addiction.

Especially when I lived around this area, yet it still seems to be an issue. Surprised it made the news like this yet not surprised there's no description of the perps.

Be careful being on foot or packing your car during early morning hours around this area, especially if you live on one of those quaint by day yet jack-the-ripper feel by night set back cart-way blocks. Camac is at least a street and not one of those cart-ways.

The next thing this couple will be packing is their moving van. Wow, and taken back into their home with these guys. They are lucky to be alive.

I used to walk down that block all the time when I lived at Waverly and Camac.

For a while in the 1990s, a house on Spruce Street two doors down from what's now Mercato, shown in that video, became a crack house. I forget how it got cleaned up.

Twenty-something more shots fired on the streets of Philadelphia.

Isn't this area considered 'Templetown'?

Also applies to unloading your car in the early a.m. hours around this area. My neighbor's were robbed unloading their car a few years back when they returned early a.m. hours after a trip.
