This was level 5 at a Broad and Ellsworth Tuesday night -

I'd bet this male was raised in a household full of females and picked up all those emotions, but was taught how to be a 'man' on the streets. There's way too much of this behavior coming from the ghetto-thug culture.
This motorist is damn lucky he's still with us today. Just one more reason I find myself spending more time and money in the suburbs.

Youre exactly right, too many want to blame the drug culture and thats only a small portion. Drugs dont cause the flash mobs in CC, the random "wilding" attacks, its absolutely no impulse control or worry about the ramifications for your actions. Its really bad (and very sad) when our 24 year old friend (AA female who lives in Rittenhouse) is moving out of state because she no longer feels safe in CC but doesnt want a suburb.

The problenms can all easily be traced back to the culture of goverment dependency, removal of discipline from schools (initially school spankings and such kept many kids in line when they had no father figure at home) and now of course cancel culture. Honestly were doomed as that the upcoming parents were raised to believe this is the norm.

People are getting shot now after traffic accidents.

These flash mobs are scary and escalate quickly. The strength is in the numbers. You see 12-18 year old kids riding their bikes in the middle of the street literally terrorizing people with absolutely no consequenses. Kids running into elderly people (because they're even less likely to retaliate), cutting infront of moving cars and acting as if the car driver was at fault etc. It's a scourge. You want to see these kids get what's coming and then you are vilanized because it's just a kid. The minute a cop shows, they scatter like rats. They've really figured it out. I have no idea how they plan to address this.

How does Government dependency add to this problem?

Government dependency broke up the family unit in the inner city, because of lifelong welfare programs a 2 parent household was no longer needed hence most of the children in inner cities being raised in single parent households. To maintain welfare benefits households were restricted on income levels; hence welfare becoming dad in many homes (my wifes family/friends had a long history of this dependecy so I speak from firsthand experience).

Until there is emphasis on responsible pregnancy, parenting this will just get worse. Many single women we knew had no concern about pregnancy outside of wedlock as that welfare was their meal ticket. This mindset doest bode well for being a responsible parent.

Another crime thread derailed by conservative as an outlet to spew narratives and talking points. We get it, city bad, (majority white) suburbs good. "Ghetto thug culture" a soft euphemism for Black/African Americans. Yawn.

The ATV rider was on parole and had a firearm -- great. But he's a criminal so no explanation needed.

Now, can the DA keep him in jail? (with a sentence for long time)

(And, of course it was illegal for his vehicle to be on the street. That's a fine and confiscation of the vehicle. Let's see if the happens.....IF it was HIS vehicle.)

He was wanted for demanding Oxys from and shooting a pharmacist at Kensington and Hunting Park earlier this year.

Let's hope he goes away for many decades.

No, there's a black culture that shares the same morals and values as every other law-abiding group.

Unfortunately, the ghetto thug culture just happens to be the dominant culture in way too many inner-city, black neighborhoods.

The white community has their own problems with the thieving junkie drug culture. Fortunately, it isn't the dominant culture in most white neighborhoods.

And, yeah, most of the suburbs are good regarding safety compared to Philadelphia. I'm most familiar with the South Jersey suburbs ...
