The perpetrator Fiston Ngoy looks like a real treat, I vote to introduce the guillotine, no sense in wasting time and money on that monster. At least this happened in Delaware County, so he will face the harshest punishment possible.

And while egregious circumstances of violence and rape have happened for centuries, taking place on a relatively crowded train with no intervention is an example of our declining society.

I hope that woman will recover from that terrible event.

Just awful. No one even cared enough to call 911.
Honestly I hate to say this, but if that happened in any other city in America, I woulda been surprised, but not Philly.

Lincoln HS, not surprised. Always a fight or brawl at the school.

R.I.P. to the innocent bystander.

Absolutely horrible, 66 year old grandfather that had gone to high school there. It still shocks me how reckless and inhumane people can be.

I can’t imagine living 66 years being a parent and then a grandparent only to get hit by a stray bullet from some little punk who had his feelings hurt from a fist fight. This is exactly why I’m not a gun owner, I’d be itching to get revenge on that coward if that were my father.

Better than avoiding gun ownership is to develop some emotional intelligence and maturity.

Many gun owners need the honest self-awareness I have. Too many highly emotional people own firearms. A PWD worker last night shot at a vehicle from road rage.

Definitely true. And high emotional intelligence is no replacement for reasonable gun control. But the larger problem in our society is low emotional intelligence, poor parenting, Etc. I was downtown last weekend and the number of rowdy nasty teens roaming the streets has noticeably climbed. The number of aggressive, disrespectful drivers has climbed noticeably everywhere. There are major issues in our society, and it starts with people.

Thankfully the initial reports that people were taking cell videos of the rape were not true.

Maybe. Somewhat misleading headline.

At the same news conference, however, the district attorney also revealed that prosecutors are in possession of a new video that was, in fact, shot by a passenger. Stollsteimer said he had yet to watch it and was unsure whether the footage included the actual assault.
We've seen bystanders videoing all types of heinous acts. Would sexual assault really be that much of a leap?
