Most likely not. At least not within in a good school district. You would have to travel far away from the city, or settle with a sub-par school district, or scale down.

normally it's best to define an area within a certain commute time from somewhere else.

Center City, yes. Sorry, you're right, a little more detail. I've been researching some suburbs and while impressive, they do seem a bit pricier than I'm used to.

It's going to be tough to rent a 3br home in the suburb of Philadelphia with decent school for $1200. You are definitely not going to get it on the Jersey side.
