Hey, you can see Philly's old PCC trolley cars on the Embarcadero, all painted to look like trolleys from mostly other cities..

The area has turned into a jammed packed environment due to all the beer gardens and roller skating rink which has reduced the romantic atmosphere the area once had in 1995. I will say that the only nice night to go to Penn's Landing is Public movie night since it's a work night but overall I just don't like the atmosphere anymore. You have all these people jammed packed into this one little area which gives the overcrowded feel when you are walking around.

All I can say is the 1995 Penn's Landing is gone forever
Maybe this was why I was born in 1995!

What I want to know is why a grown a$$ man whines so much.

I mean who, with any sense, wants to turn the Philadelphia clock back to 1995 when the city was still loosing population, crime was increasing, murders were on an uptick, the Center City District was in its infancy with no assurance it would work and, as enthusiastic as mayor Ed Rendell was, he admitted that Philadelphia was dying back then.

The bright spot , which isn't technically Penn's Landing, is Spruce Harbor Park. Then again. Penn didn't actually land where Penn's Landing is.

I am not whining I just don't see why they want to draw tons and tons of people to a very small area. They showed a clip of people at Penn's Landing on the news and it just looked so congested. I don;t want a bunch of strangers all around me and prefer to have my space.

Then living in a city with 1.5+ million people is not the place for that.

Some places in center city are less congested like

5th and Market to 7th and Market

17th and JFK to 20th and JFK

4th and Chestnut to 8th and Chestnut

4th and Walnut to 8th and Walnut

2nd and Arch to Broad and Arch

The HEAVY CONGESTED AREAS are

2nd and Market to 4th and Market
8th and Market to City Hall
15th and Market to 20th and Market
11th and Chestnut to 21st and chestnut
10th and Walnut to 21 and Walnut
