I am looking to come to Philadelphia for the weekend. Does anyone know of clean, nice and fairly inexpensive hotel to stay at for the weekend. Also, what fun things are there to do? I heard the Philadelphica Flowers Show is there this weekend. Any thoughts?

Don't eat anything until you hit Reading Terminal Market-its right in front of the Convention Center (locale for Flower show) and its an awesome place to eat and shop. I've only stayed at the Latham which I found to be over-hyped and over-priced.

You driving?

Depending on what's going on in town a Hotel Room can be a tough get. I don't think the flower show is like that, most of the exhibitors are somewhat local.

Probably the least expensive decent downtown hotels are the Hampton Inn and Travelodge. They're both a few blocks north of the Convention Center. If the Flower Show is indeed this weekend, you may want to check sites like Priceline or Hotwire to beat the high rates.

What things do you like to do? While Philadelphians are loathe to compare themselves to New York, in terms of activities we are sort of like the Big Apple albeit on a smaller, more compact scale. Of course, where we stand out is in our historical landmarks, the most significant of which can be found downtown.
