I agree with you but right now I think it's going to the DC area. So, once again, wtf was this "hunt" about? But we will see what happens.

The fact that our "quality of life" is rated lower than Columbus freaking Ohio tells me these writers have no idea what they're talking about.

Someone in the comments section mentioned the data set used for QOL is from 2000...

Not to mention, "quality of life" is a very nebulous term. It can be defined as 100 different things by 100 different people. The idea that something so personal (and overwhelmingly based on factors such as mental health and vastly different life priorities) can be quantitatively measured across different cities is pretty silly.

To the point of saying that Philly’s QOL is worse than “Columbus Freaking Ohio” leads me to believe that this analysis very heavily weighted the crime rates. Certainly, Columbus beats Philly there. As far as the other metrics of QOL go, I would say obviously not. Maybe back in 2000, Philly’s food scene wasn’t anything to brag about and maybe was only marginally better than Columbus at the time. These days though, that has certainly changed.

Philadelphia's food scene, though small, was nothing to sneeze at going back 30 years ago when George Perrier was at his height.

Googling says he has 5 houses. But, you are talking about his dc digs.

True. And he also has a pied-à-terre in NYC, another finalist.

TBH, this might be an argument in Philadelphia's favor if he'd like to be close to both of them.

I think Bezos could find an affordable place here, if Philly gets the nod. He could probably get into something reasonable in Kensington before the neighborhood really takes off, if he acts fast.
