Where have you been going out that is "eerily quiet"? I am 30 and still make it out plenty. I had a party at my house on the 4th and my buddy was like "your gf knows a ton of single good looking women. I would move to the city if it wasn't for the commute."

About six years ago I found myself as a newly single male in Philadelphia after being in a relationship for a decade. I found the dating scene in Philadelphia to be pretty easy. I got the impression that a lot of single guys in Philadelphia are losers so it was easy to look good by comparison. Not rich, a model, and am an introvert. Just one data point.

That's true about the guys here in San Antonio, too. Unfortunately, the single women aren't any better.

Even average good looks go unoticed.
Allegedly some of the women up there are pretty upfront about you having great career potential beyond I got 7 figs in the bank.

My situation as well, but I married one year earlier than you, at age 40. The problem for the OP is going to be the fact that he is brand new to the area. I met my husband when I was 36 and he was 44, at a backyard BBQ. But we were both born and raised here and obviously had mutual friends. So yeah, it's possible, but harder if you're starting out cold with no acquaintances.

This entire conversation is beyond ridiculous. There are 800,000 women in Philadelphia, 3+ million in the area. There are plenty of lids for plenty of pots. If you can't find the right lid, its probably a you problem.

Yeah, but how many are child-free and stable?

OP - you've lived in a few different places, so you may already know this, but one glaring difference in the northeast is that you'll generally find that more women will have their guard up so to speak, compared to the south. This is even more true with college educated women. For that reason, it will hard(er) for you to date 25 year olds. I think 30s you should be fine with, and any city in the northeast corridor will have a singles scene that will suit you well (yes even NYC).

There are plenty events in Philly to establish some relationships or common interests and go from there.
