Walked by the new "bus station" this weekend. What a disaster.

No, their hoagies aren't on par with the $13 specialty shops, but they're just fine. Their meatball sandwiches(all their sandwiches really), wraps, soups, hot dogs and made to order breakfast sandwiches are all very good. Some locations are better than others, as to be expected.
You might appreciate this list we on the Phillymag staff put together of foods we love to get from Wawa even though we know we shouldn't. It ran the week the Independence Mall store opened as part of a week-long strip of stories on the website. You might note that it begins with praise for that meatball sandwich from someone who knows his way around meatballs.

Unfortunately, we vacated our offices in The Curtis in mid-January (we had been working from home continuously since March 2020 anyway, and we were trying to get out from a lease we couldn't afford). The nearest Wawa to where I live is in Mt. Airy, and I'm not going to go all the way up there just for a cup of cheap but tasty clam chowder.

Just found out by an accident that Jimmy G's Steak is no longer on Broad and Fairmount. Anyone know how long they been closed?

Bus stop is more like it.

Greyhound/Peter Pan moved out of the terminal in the 1000 block of Filbert Street and set up shop in a storefront on the 600 block of Market.

The storefront has a couple of ticket booths in it. Everything else takes place on the sidewalk in front. This jams up the eastbound bus lane on Market Street, forces the SEPTA buses that use it into the general traffic lanes, and causes those to back up as well.

And wait until winter gets here.

More than a year. Actually, more than three. It closed sometime not long after the onset of the COVID lockdowns and never reopened.

An apartment building with commercial on the ground floor (stop me if you've heard this before) is going up in place of its building.

Was Santucci's Pizza on Broad and Wallace before the pandemic?

I'm not sure, but I do think it closed before the lockdowns.

Sad, one of the most underrated steaks in the city.
