Is there a train that goes from D-town to the Philadelphia airport?

Yes, you would start out taking the the R5 train from Doylestown and switch to the R1 at your choice of many stops. In the suburbs, you could switch as early as the Jenkintown-Wyncote station. In fact, you may prefer to do this as the R1 will only get more crowded. If you do prefer to wait until you get into the city, you could switch at any downtown station - Market East, Suburban Station or 30th Street. The airport has four stops within about a minute of each other that cover all of the terminals.

thank you so much Tone - it is good to hear that! Do you know approx. how long the commute would be (from D-town to airport) if you switched in the Jenkintown station? I really appreciate the info. SO helpful!!

Close to an hour from Doylestown to Jenkintown, then close to an hour from Jenkintown to the airport.

I've been told the drive time would be approx. 1 hour. Why so much longer on the train? Sorry if that seems like an ignorant questions, I've never lived in a city that had trains so I'm really unfamiliar!

A map website gives the same time but that doesn't take into account the traffic that you'd likely experience on the PA Turnpike (I-276) and the Blue Route (I-476). An hour and a half is more realistic. So for about an extra half hour on the train, you get to leave the driving to someone else and not have to worry about parking fees.

You're right Tone. The train sounds like the way to go for sure.
