It sounds awful, just awful. Although it does sound great for kids. I do feel sorry for those who have to work/live in areas of high tourist traffic. Unfortunately, not much you can do living and working in the city.

You can Ride the Ducks in Boston and San Francisco among other places, reason alone to visit. Cheesy, yes! Embarrassing? I guess if you are easily embarrassed. Everyone is issued a yellow plastic duck call whistle and is encouraged to blow it at certain points on the trip.

As far as I know, all of the Historic District tours load on the sidewalk.
