I would suggest that there is no god, and proof of man's supposed evil, or conflicted state, demonstrates this.
Humans create gods, then aspire to become them, along the way creating a plethora of rules and dogma all designed to allow man to make some mystical and miraculous advance into a divine realm. In reality, man just deludes himself into a false sense of accomplishment, thinking that he has won the support of mythological beings and is therefore "saved" or "blessed". This of course lasts only as long as success is achieved in some endeavor, after which man reverts to thinking that he has irked god in some way, and is suffering as a result.
Some humans do not realize that the nature of the human experience is a mixture of what we deem good and bad, whilst experiencing pleasure and suffering at times.
I would suggest that "gods" are creations of mans, a product of wishful thinking, harmless until it interferes with the lives and rights of others, or when it precludes any degree of mental illness which prevents a person from ascending the scale of self-actualization, which is, with our current theories and understandings, the Apex of man's ability to achieve that inner peace and health which has so evaded those who seek an external source for all answers.
Mods should move this to the Christianity forum. It has nothing to do with philosophy.
I do not see a problem with discussing the philosophical angle of a religious belief. Actually, we can discuss the philosophical merits or demerits of a doctrinal belief based on how people think God expects. Take care.
