I am moving to Scottsdale for job (N Scottsdale Rd at E Indian School Rd - I guess it is downtown?).

I need help from you guys about where to stay to make my commute easier, nice enough to live and doesn't cost me too much.

I already searched the forum - but could not find what I am looking for. Appreciate your help

It depends on your budget. Lots of options, some walking distance.

Thanks for your reply - But I hv no idea about the area. Where do people prefer to stay in general who commutes to work in Scottsdale downtown? Or a general description on the areas around Scottsdale downtown also would help.

are you looking for an apt, a hotel, an extended stay hotel, a rental house?

There's a lot of apartments in central Scottsdale, older complexes and newer ones. I would think that searches on the rental sites would give you options. Rents generally are fairly reasonable these days.

yes, the Scotts. and Ind Sch. intersection is in the very heart of downtown Scottsdale, what some call "Old Town" ( a visitors center nomenclature, I think!).....

and, as another said, if you need to search by zip code, it's 85251

many, many choices....the area is fairly upscale, mostly, so expect somewhat high rates....I've walked by a place called the Palladium, I think, which is immediately east of that intersection...if you're under 40, that complex may appeal to you....but there are many other options....you may even be able to walk to work as the immediate area is fairly dense with living choices....

you may want to get a long-term type hotel when you first arrive and spend a few days looking around before you commit to a lease.....lots of rentals available now

A lot of things along that corridor, from Camelback on down, probably east of Miller. Some low-key places may just have a sign in the window. And it would be great easy walking to work for you.
