Hi there. I am currently living in a far northwest suburb of Chicago and am thinking about moving to Arizona with my boyfriend and daughter. I have been mostly looking at Scottsdale and just recently looked at Chandler. It is very important for me to move somewhere with better than average public schools as my daughter will be starting school next fall. Since I am not familiar with Arizona almost at all I am hoping to get some insight on where might be a good place to live. Any help and information would be greatly appreciated!!

I'd come out here and visit before making any kind of move, if you "hardly know anything about Arizona at all". The schools are good in most of Chandler and Scottsdale, Tempe, and some other areas as well. But you need to figure out whether you want to live here before you give up jobs and uproot yourselves to move (and you'll need to have jobs here first, unless you have a large cash cushion). Come out for a visit (this time of year would be good, you need to experience the heat here if you can) and see what you think.
