Baby, it's cold outside. Temps tomorrow will be in the 50s in the Phoenix area. The record (1918) is 54, and though we probably won't break it, it will be pretty darn close. Freeze watch in the outlying areas for tomorrow night. Kiss the bougainvilleas goodbye for the year! Dress warm all you crazy shoppers that will be out there at 3am.

The OLD MAN WINTER must have heard you Ponderosa!
I am ok with day-time but it is the late night and early morning that I have problem with. Kinda-wish for the 110s (or maybe not - the hot days can wait for next year).

Freeze watch issued for Phoenix area for Thanksgiving
Freeze watch issued for Phoenix area for Thanksgiving

Temperatures across the Phoenix area could drop to as low as the mid-20s Thanksgiving night.
A freeze watch has been issued for the Phoenix area from late Thursday night through Friday morning with temperatures that are expected to be about 32 degrees and possibly drop as low as 24 degrees in the Queen Creek, Gilbert and Chandler areas, according to the National Weather Service.
"We're expecting the coldest outbreak so far this season," meteorologist Steve Sipple said.
The cold front is expected to bring drier air and light winds, creating freezing conditions for the greater Phoenix area, including Mesa, Queen Creek, Avondale and Casa Grande.
The average low temperature for Phoenix at this time of year is about 47 degrees, Sipple said.
"This is unseasonably cold air," he said.

Happy Turkey-D

I guess it's time for me to drag out the frost cloth tonight, just in case. My tomatoes, peppers, and strawberries plants were just starting to bear fruit, too! I really hope they survive. I've heard some say that you can use Christmas lights to warm them, but apparently it has to be the old non-LED type, which provide more heat than the ones sold nowadays. I'll have to check and see what I've got in the attic.

The best $20 purchase I ever made was for my space-heater. When it gets cold at night, my 2 cats and I snuggle and the space heater blows right on us. I've also been known to turn on the hair-blow dryer to warm my hands and feet. I'll try to hold off turning on the house heater till absolutely necessary.

Anyhow, hope everyone here stays warm and has a happy Thanksgiving!

I love colder weather. Nothing beats a 50 degree day and a cup of hot cocoa.

I don't know, it's like I can't function with this semi overcast gloomy type of day. I just want to lay in bed all day and do nothing.

You said it! With the past 4 days being cloudy and rain on Sunday it finally feels like winter's coming. The first frost came on Monday.

I thought this thread was going to be about eating cold Turkey the day after Thanksgiving.

I didn't realize how cold it is supposed to get. Guess I should check the weather forecast.

Aw, me too! I'm loving it, no heater for me! Finally get to use a blanket
Do I cover my citrus trees? Or just ground vegetation?

Looking forward to it myself. I've been getting my spa ready today. I don't use it in summer but love to sit in it on a cold morning with the steam all rising up. Will heat it up tonite when off peak rates come on. All day tomorrow is off peak, too. I'll be simmering while the turkey is baking.
