Ok, So I do know that AZ doesn't change the time, which is AWESOME, but what about your phone, computers, appliances etc, do they change automatically and then YOU have to manually change them back? how does that work?

Thanks,

No, nothing changes automatically, as far as I know. Appliances, for one, have clocks that are manually set in the first place, so there's nothing to change. I've never done anything with a computer, either, I'm assuming there was an initial setting to Mountain Standard Time, and that just stays. My cell phone always knows what time it is whereever I go, including here. Landline phone I've never even thought about, but I don't think there's an issue there.

Windows has an "Arizona" time zone . Other things you just select no DST when setting them up.

Most devices other than some mentioned that are manual also have a setting on them that you can shut the daylight savings time off or a manual setting.
And it's very nice not to change.
I have lived in and out of AZ for many years and never liked changing times Spring and Fall. (on edit, when I lived elsewhere and changed the clocks)

I've lived in AZ the vast majority of my adult life so don't recall ever changing clocks. Still, I can't imagine it is that onerous of a task, especially since many these days automatically make the adjustment for you. Actually, we in AZ have the toughest adjustment to make. Our relationship to nearby states and the rest of the US changes twice a year. If we deal in any way with the country, we must adjust. That seems to be more effort, actually, than waking up an hour earlier or later than we want on two days. Having said that, I still would not want to see us on DST though. The rest of them should drop it to conform with us.

Yes I should have said more clearly when I did not live in AZ that we changed clocks.
Poorly stated.

With your computer, as stated above, there should be an option for ARIZONA Mountain Time......which is different from just Mountain Time (as they do change for DST). If your computer is set for AZ Mtn. Time, you don't have to do a thing when daylight savings time rolls around.

Algia, the only thing we change is the clock in our heads for the time difference with those we know that don't live in AZ...

Many of our clocks change automatically and do not have a do-not-adjust or AZ time option. These are ones which "guarantee" precise time to the umteenth of a second. They were purchased when we lived in another state and were wonderful then!

Of course, here they're a pain because they change and we have to change them back. Worse, since the dates of the time changes changed a couple of years ago in the US, having nothing to do with the world time clock (or the adjustment signal that is generated out of CO), the clocks now change when it's not time to change anywhere in the country!
