YES, Analoxe . . . any form of "Plate Obscuring" is illegal and not worth the risk of a hefty fine plus the very expensive probability of vehicle seizure.

My recommendation . . . request the Defensive Driving Program and consider this as nothing more than an expensive learning experience.

GOOD LUCK

Sorry to say it, but your life is ruined. You will never be able to live this down. You name will be all over town soon. Once it makes the evening news and they show your face to a million people, you won't be able to go anywhere without being recognized and ridiculed. There is only one thing for you to do now. May God forgive you!

Maybe slow down at intersections and don't run red lights, start out earlier so you don't have to speed. Good thing no pedestrians or bicyclists at that intersection.

Did you see my reply before it was deleted?

You will need to pay the $105 court fine with the driving course. Those online schools are legit.

I have never really understood the having to run the red light thing. As several have stated, leave a little earlier. Is going to the Walmart in that big of a hurry, that important to you to endanger other peoples lives.

That is one way to look at it. However I believe, after being in over 35 accidents and several hospital stays in my life, that the less time you spend on the roads the lesser your chance of some nut hitting you. So I drive as fast as I can in order to get where I am going sooner, and thus get off the road and out of my car. I have been rear ended stopping at the last second for a red light more times than I can count. My back and neck are so shot now from whiplash that I live on Percocet now and hardly sleep more than 2 hours at a time due to the pain. I am so tired of hearing some guy who hit me say, "I thought you were going to go through the light."

On my ticket I can’t find anywhere where it says that it is reported to the DMV, but I assume that points will be assessed for all of my options (whether I pay the ticket, or go to court and lose) except for the defensive driving school- where it clearly states on the paper that points will not be assessed. I got a little curious and checked out the different driving school options and I was pretty amused that half of them are online! I can’t believe that I can get out of running a red light for taking an online course from a company called: “The Improv Traffic school” and “Safe 2 Drive!” These sites sound like a joke. I really hate to use the driving school option because it’s like using my get out of jail free card, and if this happens again in the next two years I can’t use this option again.

Also, under the option to attend driving school it says:”If selecting this option, you do not pay the court fine, you only pay the fee to the school.” Yet on this website: Maricopa County
under Tempe it says that there is a court fine of 105 dollars that I must pay, and the driving schools I just looked at said I have to pay that too. So I am super confused right now….what exactly is the court fine the ticket is talking about?

This is driving me nuts!! I’m going to avoid driving through these recorded intersections now if I can help it.

If you get busted for running a red light, typically you have to pay the fine AND attend traffic school. In this situation you'll DEFINITELY have to pay the court fine, that you can't get out of, plus all other associated traffic school costs.
