Does anyone know of a nice park in Mesa, Chandler or Gilber to have a small wedding ceremony with about 20 people?

Yes! Freestone Park in Gilbert (Lindsay and Elliott, maybe?) is gorgeous. They have a lake with rock waterfall - all the kids go there before prom to have pics taken and I've seen many small wedding ceremonies there.

Tumbleweed Park in Chandler (McQueen and Germann) is nice too and pretty big. They have a lot of covered ramadas with tables if you wanted to do a party afterwards.

Also, Desert Breeze park (Chandler Blvd and McClintock, maybe?) in Chandler is great. They also have a lake and it's huge with a train for the kids (if you'll have kids there).

If you want to go up to Scottsdale, check McCormick Stillman park. It's huge and very pretty with a playground and train for the kids and tables. It's in McCormick Ranch.

And there are lots of little neighborhood parks within subdivisions. Also, check each city's website. They usually list all their parks on their sites. That might help.

Good luck

Also Val Vista LAkes Communitiy Center will let private small weddings take place - we just went to one - about 30 people - it was beautiful and the pictures by the waterfalls etc. was great - food was lovely.
But I do agree Freestone is lovely.......

Interesting question, Sidekick

When are you planning this wedding?

The reason I ask is fairly simple . . . I attended a "Park Wedding" a few years ago and, due to the heat and humidity, it was a DISASTER! Spring, Autumn and Winter are fine but NEVER SUMMER here in Arizona unless all the guests and participants are allowed to wear shorts and t-shirts.

That's good advice!

I agree about not doing it in the summer. A friend of mine had a wedding about a month ago in a park and it was miserable for everyone due to the heat. They had to rush it so everyone could get out of the sun and instead of everyone talking about how nice the wedding was, they were talking about how hot and miserable they were.

Hmmmmmmm, HX_Guy . . . sounds like we were both at the same "Park Wedding"!

We're talking the 'M' word here, yikes! [runs real fast]

Agree with Bummer about the sumer weddings here. Though there may be some parts of Az that may be possible, there are many more that arent wise choices.
I know someone who got married at a haunted house! Wierd.
