Hey guys, I know the notion of ground beef tacos can be repulsive to traditional Carne connoisseur's, however there a favorite of mine when served up in freshly fried corn shells. Any place that immediately comes to mind in Central Phoenix??

I hope you get some answers as I like my tacos like this as well. Seems all I can find are very greasy taco's that are not spectacular. Was a place in Pittsburgh CA called New Mecca Cafe that we used to go to when I was a kid that had the best tacos (gringo like you describe) and I've never found anything as good since leaving 35 years ago.

Would be great to find something in the valley.

I am not entirely sure that I understand what you are looking for. You can get a taco like that at Del Taco and Taco Bell and even Jack in the Box.

And you can get Lobster at Long John Silvers but that doesn't make it the best place to go if you want Lobster.

LoL, right!

The difference between Jack n Box, taco bell, Del Taco etc, is that the shells are usually fried fresh to order. The ground beef is real beef and usually seasoned well.

Filibertos? I'd think "America's Taco Shop" would have them, but don't know for sure.

Yea, Filerbertos actually doesn't have them. They do have shredded beef taco's with fried shells though. America's taco Shop doesn't either. :=(

Ground beef Tacos with potatoes are awesome and are a staple of New Mexican food.

Try Si Senor in Chandler. They are good and you still get hot sopapillas for free at the end of your meal.

Hungry now! I don't go to Comedor Guadalajara nearly often enough, and I've never tried Si Senor though I've driven by it many times and wondered what it is like.
