And private schools would really open up where you could live. If you're dependent on the public school system, you need to move to where you would like your children to go to school.

There are some fantastic historic neighborhoods you could look into, as has been mentioned.

Arcadia: That area is served by the Scottsdale Unified School District which has great schools. Arcadia is an affluent area for the most part and very desirable.
North Central Phx: This area is served by both the Madison School District and Washington School District. Madison is the better of the two. North Central Phx is a very nice greenbelt area and desirable. Nice ranch style homes on larger lots like Arcadia. Has affluent areas and middle class areas.
Moon Valley: This area is served by Washington School District and Deer Valley Unified School District. Deer Valley once again being the better district however the Washington School District Schools that do serve the area(Lookout Mountain&Mountain Sky) are 2 of the best schools in the district and are excelling schools because Moon Valley is for the most part a more affluent area(mid-up mid class families)

If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask!

Since budget seems to be no concern, I still think PV is by far the best option for a home with a large lot.
