Sweet! I love the stacked stone. When does the rest of the deck go in?

What's with that spigot on the side?

The PVC pipe sticking out? It's an aerator that isn't finished yet.

Rest of the deck goes in when we do the rest of the backyard landscaping, we have to run piping underneath to get to the plants and then put the deck down.

Ah gotcha. Cool man. Nice progress for sure! Love the design. Even the lion heads are growing on me.

How are you doing on your selection of tree/shrubs....still researching?
Thanks Steve.

Yeah, still researching though haven't really done much with it lately. We keep getting new idea...like now doing a orange jubilee hedge along the fence.

I had a landscape designer over today to see what he suggested for a tall privacy hedge and he recommended orange jubilees. I'm reluctant because I read that they attract bees and I'm allergic. He also suggested my front runner, hopseed/hop bush (thanks stevek64!) which I think I'll end up going with. I need something that will grow to at least 12' without issue. If you ever get a bid from one of those guys, sit down when reviewing the numbers!

What is the reason for the step difference in that one spot where the second step protrudes out onto the third step cutting the third step in two? Seems people will run into that when they are trying to walk up if the lighting isn't right to show where the steps are. I've been trying to figure out the purpose of that.

That's there because of the pool light housing, you can see it in this picture here. The pool light was actually supposed to go a little higher in that space but they set it a bit too low. :/

Ok, that had crossed my mind...why didn't they just put the light in the second step shinning out over the third step and across the pool?

Either way, looks great.

BTW: I don't think I would count on the color changing after the startup, I've never noticed the water color change on my pool.

Putting the light into the 2nd step shining out over the 3rd step would have caused a shadow (of the 3rd step), they had to have it as outward as possible to eliminate that. It's pretty visible when next/in the pool, I don't think it should be a tripping problem.

As for the color...they haven't done the startup yet, that's scheduled for tomorrow at noon...right now it's just full with water from the hose, no chemicals in there at all.
