My son is graduating with an undergraduate degree in Finance and would like to move to Phoenix. We were there just before last Christmas for a short visit and took in a Suns game. He really likes the area. I am helping him network so to speak and would like to know what companies he could apply to in Phoenix, Tempe and Scottsdale area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Also, if there is anyone on here in the Finance field, would you know what the average entry level position would pay annually?

Have your son apply at Vanguard. Vanguard is one of the largest and fastest growing investment firms. They have a nice facility in Scottsdale at Raintree and the Loop 101. This is a great company and they are always hiring entry level positions. Your son will fit in well as they hire a lot of young people out of college. They offer training and advancement. He can have a life long career with this company.

Vanguard uses a staffing firm called Randstad to groom their talent, so if he gets hired on he will work for Randstad for about 6-9 months and if Vanguard likes him they will hire him as a Vanguard employee. This allows them to weed out the workers that don't fit in.

If Vanguard hires him as permanent they will pay for him to obtain a Series 6 license. They even have fast track MBA programs that they will pay for. Here is a link to their website:

Good Luck!

I agree with AZJoeD that Vanguard is a good company. I know a few who work there and are fairly happy with their jobs. Many have been there for a long time.
