Are they really legal? I recieved something in the mail trying to sell me a photo license plate cover that prevents photo radar pictures, the flyers claims it is legal - is it really?

No and you will get a ticket if pulled over, if not pulled over for that very reason.

Default didn't think so

I didn't think so, but the letter claimed it was legal, sighted legistlation, etc., so I decided I would ask. Thanks!

There was something similar on the TV show "mythbusters" awhile ago. They photo radared some cars with many different types of covers that either supposedly blocked or made the print inelligible. All busted and were clear to see all the letters on the cars plates. So, wouldnt waste my money on this.

Totally 100% illegal in AZ. This subject was covered just a few weeks ago.

I've had one on my truck for 4 years, I have been pulled over for other things and the cop has said nothing too me but they are in fact illegal here in Florida.

I bought one at an auto type store in the same color as my truck (dark green) for very little money.

Personally I would get one and if they do say something to you, plead ignorance and tell them you got it for the color or to keep your license plate clean or make it difficult for someone to steal your registration sticker from your plate. My guess is they will just give you a warning.

I was gonna mention that episode. Good stuff!!! They busted all of those methods/variations, not a single one worked. IOW, dont buy that junk.

Don't bother to plead ignorance with a police officer or in court. Ignorance is not a defense nor excusable. Don't use spray nor a cover in AZ. If you have not gotten a ticket, it is because you have been lucky. You are basically driving around on borrowed time until an officer pulls you over and decides to throw the book at ya.
