More than 174 courses according to this site: Scottsdale is the Southwest's mecca for golf - World Golf Destinations

Scottsdale is a golf resort destination in a league of its own. Vegas is not even remotely comparable. It's like arguing that Phoenix is more of a bachelor party destination than Vegas.

I guess if the only way you can prove your point is by picking on the tired, feeble kid, you probably don't have a good argument.

Comeon take a look. If there really was 174 courses in Scottsdale there would not be much else there.

I think you will find they are referring to Scottsdale and around Scottsdale. That is called the Valley of the Sun. Who knows ... around may even include southern Las Vegas.

I certainly agreed above that there are more golf courses in Scottsdale than in Summerlin. And that goes with the admonition there are two many in Summerlin.

Forget Summelin. I'm talking about Las Vegas as a whole. The city of Scottsdale is about 50 square miles larger than the city of Las Vegas. Mind blown? You can't argue against facts.

You poor guys just don't understand.
The Las Vegas Valley is about 600 Square miles. I really can't imagine that you don't know that the strip is not in the City of Las Vegas. But it is not.

Scottsdale is what...180 Square miles?

185ish. Take a look at a map. The only reason size is relevant to this discussion is to counter your point that the size of Scottsdale couldn't support triple the number of golf courses of LV. It can and it does. Vegas won't trump Scottsdale when it comes to golf. You'll need to pick a different point if you want to try to prove that Las Vegas is somehow superior to Scottsdale and/or the Phoenix area.

you too, I don't think I've read that here yet?

which is actually totally irrelevant to the question of which area would be better to live, the strip is Las Vegas as its the influence of it for people considering the move there, you can't conveniently subtract "the strip" as either an influence or as something that is, physically there.

I don't understand your point regarding my post. Maybe you quoted the wrong post?

There are around 45 golf courses in Las Vegas. There appear to be a little over 30 in Scottsdale. The 185 appears to be the entire valley of the Sun.

I can't imagine why golf courses would be an advantage. I would think there are too many in Las Vegas already. And some have been closed or converted to housing.
