I currently live in SW Florida (Ft . Myers & Naples area)I'm thinking about trying out a different area/climate "no snow".
Like Florida it's hot and humid in the rainy season, but there are some that are less oppressive than other areas.

Not really, you can save a few degrees by living in carefree but it's only 1-3. You can head north or east to smaller towns like Payson, Prescott, or Globe and it can be about 20 degrees cooler or more but those aren't a part of Phoenix.

Technically, the SW Valley has the warmest daytime temperatures due to being slightly lower in elevation. Sky Harbor (where the official weather data is collected) also tends to be one of the warmest areas in both afternoon highs and overnight lows, and this is due primarily to the urban heat island effect. The only parts of the Phoenix metro area where you're going to find cooler daytime temps is in the northern parts like Carefree, Anthem, and perhaps Fountain Hills where it's more outlying and also higher elevation ... however, you won't notice much of a difference. What you will notice is cooler nights & early mornings in the far flung areas.

No. Actually it doesn't remotely resemble Florida in the rainy season.

It's a bit cooler in older neighborhoods with plenty of trees and grass.

You are micro-managing if you expect to find any significant any place in Phoenix or the Salt River Valley. There are many more important relocation questions than "how hot is it in Phoenix" and what areas.

I wonder if anybody but me has noticed the long term similarity between the weather in Las Vegas NV, Palm Springs CA and Phoenix AZ?

The only diff I've seen is when PHX has the monsoon, and of course the habibs.

Yeah maybe my spelling is off. Actually it's a borrowed word from a foreign language, Arabic maybe.

I speak only English, Spanish, and a smattering of French and Italian...
