I did a search for my grandparent's old houses and then remembered Encanto Park and the houses surrounding it. How is that area holding up?

I have many happy memories going to Encanto Park including feeding the geese.

Another trip down memory lane...

I'd live around the park if I had the $$$. In other words, it's doing well.

VERY WELL! It is impossible to find a house under a million dollars in the area, even in these down times for the real estate market! The Encanto-Palmcroft Historic Neighborhood is one of the most exclusive and expensive markets in Phoenix.

If your grandparents left you the house, you'd be sitting on a goldmine. If my parent's owned a house in the neighborhood, I dont think I would sell. Such a beautiful area.

My grandparents lived nearby not in Encanto. We used to drive by and look at all the pretty houses and then head to the park. I used to feed the geese and enjoy having room to run and play.

I was a poor kid living near Black Canyon Highway.

Both sets of grandparents were comfortable but far from rich.

I lived near the park for 2 yrs....165-1966. The park will always have a soft spot in my heart. My friends and I would listen to music at the bandshell, swim at the pool, play shuffleboard, use the paddleboats, etc. I will always have fond memories.

Encanto Park is really one of the treasures of Phoenix. . . and the neighborhoods surrounding it are. . . oh well. . . shall I say "out of reach" for most of us. . ..
