Hi guys! I need suggestions for apartments within the $700-800(max) range in decent to nice areas. It doesnt matter if it's 1-2 bedroom or studio. As long as it falls in the price range and is a fairly 'safe' place for a single mother.

I don't need the ritz, just so long as it is not high crime. Not concerned so much about amenities or anything else.

Just want to update. Even if not actual apartments, areas to consider would be great. So I can start the search.

I would look in North Phoenix/Scottsdale off of Mayo Blvd west of Scottsdale Rd., All of those apartment complexes are very new and good for young professionals and not too expensive. Very safe area

I'm going to list some street names. I have no idea

what area it is in as Im not familiar with

Phoenix. Perhaps someone could tell me if the area

the street is in is considered safe or just not

high crime?

If any of them stand out to you, I appreciate your input!

Thanks!

Depends on the cross street, but not the best area overall. I think at that price you are going to have a hard time. Rents are really high these days.

OP wants 7-800 max. Not happening in that area, IMO.

I had good luck when I landed in Phoenix after my divorce by going to an apartment locating service. Though your budget might be an issue. Looked up both bachelor pads I rented in older but clean, decent apartments in north central Phoenix and currently their one bedrooms are going for $875 to $1100.

For that rent in a neighborhood that will be generally safe I'd look around in an area from 19th Avenue to 43rd Avenue and north of Glendale up to probably Bell. But it will be patchy, one complex will be a dive and across the street it's clean & safe.

The first 4 and the last 4 broadly speaking... are the older not as new and possibly higher crime areas. In general... you want to avoid the southwest parts of the phoenix area.

You will not find an apartment for $700 in that area. Not even close.
