I was wondering, does anyone know why Queen Creek hasn't been able to attract many decent Italian restaurants? I am pretty sure the demographics are there, but seems like most of Italian restaurant owners prefer Scottsdale, Chandler, or Gilbert. Only thing we have is Olive Garden, Oregano's, and Brooklyn V's (plus the fast casual Mici Italian Kitchen). Nearest place that is really good is Vito's in nearby south Gilbert.

About 80% of new restaurants opening in Queen Creek in recent years have been taco shops. Is this really what Queen Creek residents want? Priority should be given to more Italian restaurants.

As far as I can tell, the only consistent preference throughout the Phoenix area is Mexican.

But Chandler, Gilbert, and Scottsdale have no problem attracting Italian restaurants. Queen Creek has not had much success. I am not sure if it is because the town gives preferential treatment to Mexican restaurants or not.
