We may be moving to the Phoenix area. Can anybody help? Looking for areas around the Phoenix area, looking for really good schools and schools that are close to the area where we will be getting a home. Short travel time to schools or walking distance. Close to stores also if possible. We are looking to rent the first year until we settle in since we are doing a quick move and want a great community so we can stay in that area when we buy so we don't have to uproot our kids and schools. My husband lived there when he was young but things change I know so if anyone can give some great advice, want to move within the next month or so. Which cities/towns are the best and has the best schools? Thanks.
Need help quick.

Where you work will be a huge factor in finding a neighborhood.

Husband is in construction work and will be working around Phoenix area probably mostly in Phoenix but areas around Phoenix are ok within driving distance especially if interstate. Areas around Phoenix we would prefer. Work is better there and pay is too.

try to see if they can give him a better indication of where they normally land projects ........ also if you plan on working it could be a consideration as well

the metro area is massive in land size ...... really possible to go 40-50 miles without breaking constant development

Can't give a better indication of where to work depends of where there's work. Will mostly be in Phoenix. New commercial work. I won't be working and we don't want to spend more than $250,000 for a home want to be where there is a great school system.

i'd probably rent first then ........ would be a shame to buy a house and then unwittingly end up making 90 minute commutes each day

i'm more familiar with the west valley and for elementary aged kids the litchfield ESD is very good

What would be considered the bad areas to live in? I know every town has areas like that. Also would like an area with a nice size yard for a big dog and lots of kids to run around in. We are looking for a house with a pool but also want the green area for playing.
