Default Arizona

Hello everyone,

I am thinking about moving to Arizona and wanted to know what cities are good for a single parent with children of course crime rates, good schools and reasonable apartments? So far i've browsed online at Flagstaff, Tempe, Tucson, Scottsdale and Prescott.

I would like to know this too, and especially for affordable income subsidized places wth good schools in the area. I would like a smaller city, nothing as big as Phoenix. And are there any multi-cultural areas with good diversity?

Phoenix is expensive everywhere but apartments are reasonable for some a 3 bd can be 800 to 1000 . You would not want to live in subsidized housing in Phoenix. Lots of Crime . It is culturally diverse though.
Prescott is great if you can afford it.
Tucson is not too bad for housing but getting expensive , a one bedroom house in the barrio is $ 500 a month to rent. There are some subsidized areas there .
Tempe is beautiful. Prescott is beautiful. Oro Valley in Tucson is beautiful.
the middle class flee to the outskirts to avoid crime .
Great schools in North west Phoenix .

Dont listen to these Doofueses who tell you "dont move here because of crime, or flee here because of crime" I just cannot believe how scared Arizona people are of crime, it is absolutely ridiculous. There is no Arizona city ranked in the top 20 in crime rate, its pathetic how scared people are of it though. Like I said on a previous post, the only way you should worry about crime is if you have a particular interest in walking through a bad neigborhood at 2 in the morning, but I dont think you do so dont worry about the crime

I agree with you Scottie. I get disgusted with phx when I watch the news. It just makes me feel like I'm in hell. But then I think of the big picture and how many people live here.

Only worry if you live in a BAD area, like south phx, maryvale, etc. Otherwise it's not like you look out your window and see this stuff up and down your street.

The things to worry most about is bad, crazy drivers AND skin concer.

every large metropolis has crime , it is very common, Albq, has more crime than Phoenix for some reason ,they used to have the highest muder rate per capita, they were on Cops every week for years,
Phoenix, I once lived at 27 th and Indian school , there are hookers there every night also at 51 st ave and Mcdowell. In Phoenix every nice area has it's seedy side.
My wife got harrased by a Phoenix Police officer on McDowell as she came out of a walgreens , he thought she wanted to rob the place ? why ? because it is in the central corridor ( McDowell 51 st ave to central ) WHERE THERE IS A <LOT OF CRIME ) as said by the PHOENIX POLICE OFFICER , who I am sure would not like to called a DUFUS.
Just stay way from cheap large apartment complexes, they are noisy , you will hear gun shots and Sub woofers all the time.
