LOL, that's what I called it when I was younger because it is hard to pronounce even for young Spanish speakers:

Mooh Goh Yown... the mooh is not a "moo" cow sound but a drawn out moooh.

Quesadilla...keh sah dee ya

Xavier... (english, phoenician pronunciation is how it is spelled WITH the X)

Spanish: Hav yeh d (the r makes a d sound, "deh")...the hav does not sound like "have" but haaav...long a sounds

LOL ya, you caught that?

I feel weird saying that word in either direction, so luckily I have very little need to say it. When I do, I try my hardest to say it fast and unclear to get past it without criticism. haha

Southerners probably have the right way since they are more likely found there in the south. Its funny because the southerners are probably pronouncing it right while others who pick on their accents for other words are saying it wrong.

"Aunt" is another one of those words. I think lots of southerners pronounce it as "ONT" which I believe is proper? But I say "ANT" and feel strange throwing proper pronunciation into an otherwise normal sentence.

I wasn't trying to be an ass, I was just short with you since I was getting off the computer, hence why I didn't finish spelling out dictionary.

Apperently it's pronounced wrong on that site anyways.

This thread is funny. I once worked for a company with Seligman in the name, and it was pronounced Sull-IG-mun or Seh-LIG-mun. As for the pronunciation of the town, couldn't tell ya. Never been there!
