For the sake of law and jurisprudence in Maricopa County, I hope these allegations and investigations expose the true nature of this man. He has seriously disrupted our legal system, cost us taxpayers too much money, and is an ego/media junkie...

This is one area I agree with you 100%. He needs to be forcibly removed from office since the old sun city people keep voting for him.

Looks like the county supervisors are just retaliating against the fact that some of their buddies were indicted.

Hmmm....

So who is wasting the taxpayers' money?

Yeah, cuz ya know.....

Maricopa county government is a disgrace and Arpaio is only the most visible reason. When they're done and he is gone, Thomas, Stapely and Wilcox should resign, and Hendershot, David Smith, Sandi Wilson and their horseholders, apologists and sycophants should all be fired. We will then have a Maricopa County government with some semblance of the respected organization it was ten years ago.

Actually, you might be surprised to know that the Federal investigation is occurring because of other agencies and not Maricopa County supervisors. The Yavapai County Attorney, who was hand selected by Thomas to "help prosecute" county supervisors, had serious concerns about Arpaio's handling of legal procedures and rules of jurisprudence disrupted. This goes way beyond Maricopa County now...

Not to mention that no one is against catching criminals or prosecuting them, look at the City of Phoenix! In 2008 Phoenix witnessed a 24% drop in all crimes (especially violent crimes) and in 2009 though Nov, a further 18% drop in crime has occured from the 2008 level...now that is amazing!

A 42% drop in crime in the City of Phoenix limits while crime has slightly risen in unincorporated Maricopa County. Yeah, that Sheriff, really tough on the hardened, free criminal.

In 2007 there were 222 murders, that number dropped in 2008 to 169, and in between January 2009 through November 2009 there were 106 murders...the City of Phoenix' anti-drop house, bait car deterrent program, Anti-gang Task Force, beat patrols in places like Maryvale and South Phoenix, etc have really had an impact in the city. The sheriff has no such programs and success.
