Agreed, but the sheriff's defenders will discount the number because it is reported in the New Times.

I know they will. That is their personal bias against things that challenge their belief system.

The News Times has good writers and conducts good investigative reporting.

I saw nothing in the article you linked to to back up the 41 million figure - it was an article about the dispute between the New Times and MCSO

For the most part I agree, although I still wonder why Stephen Lemons is on the payroll at the New Times. Even though I agree with most of his opinions, his writing style is so juvenile that I sometimes tune him out. Most of the other writers are more professional. One good thing to come out of the arrests of the New Times executives is that mainstream papers (e.g. the Republic and the Tribune) are now reporting more aggressively about the Sheriff's misdeeds.

Initially, I thought the post was going to read that there are 41.4 million lawsuits agains Sheriff Joe.

I agree. Maybe the courts should dismiss most of the absurb lawsuits that are filed against our law enforcement personal. I think that everyone should see what lawsuits were filed to see how silly most of this stuff is.
