The fact that the governor stepped in this early in the legislative process is evidence that this bill ruffled the feathers of the big cigars and others who are working hard to build a solid economy for the future of this state.

Exactly what I heard. She got called into the governor's office and basically was the recipient of a large *THWWWACK* across the back of the head.

Jan Brewer certainly doesn't excite me, but I'm glad that at least she's not an absolute ideologue like the majority composition of our Legislature, Democrat and Republican alike.

I hope the voters in her district kick her out first chance they get, but I doubt they even know she is their rep. After all, how many of us can say who our state reps and senators are?

Not likely. She represents Sun City, which interestingly enough is the fastest growing solar-use area in the state but complaints from that area are what spurred this whole bill on in the first place.

I know many Republicans who were dead-set against this bill simply because we don't want this state to turn into the Western version of Michigan. Say what you want about California and idiotic policies that led them to the brink of financial disaster, but if they can ever get their stuff together, they have a way out through the numerous industries that call that state home.

Here in Arizona, we were basically "all in" in regards to the real estate/construction markets and didn't invest in much else. Now we have a massively growing industry deciding that Arizona is a great place to setup shop and some goofy legislators decided to jump in and save us from building a respectable industry in an area that doesn't have very many economic options.

This has nothing to do with partisanship, and everything to do with economic common sense. Debbie Lesko and others of her ilk proved that the didn't have any and got smacked down for it.

Default More solar good news for Goodyear

Another solar company has leased space in Goodyear.

Tower Automotive leases 460,000 square feet in Goodyear - Phoenix Business Journal:

Also, ASU is now considering a Goodyear campus specializing in Solar and Aerospace disciplines.

Maybe Goodyear will be to solar what Chandler is to chips.
