I have always been fascinated with optics. The two subjects I had the most problems with were Electricity and optics in my Physics class. Maybe it is the difficulty of understanding them that made them so interesting. I have a hobby shop in my garage and I have used both my metal mill and lathe in attempts to create lenses. So far I have only succeeded in turn a lot of Silica sand into various shaped transparent lumps. But I am sure having fun LOL.

So far my efforts to make silica sand are in points. Disreguard all the other items I made all of mostly. Only pic I have of any points and or other stone tools, while there are lots more to get pics of.
