I almost missed this shot. I went out yesterday because I thought we were going to have a beautiful sunrise. We had some low ground fog, making for a deep red sky. I took a few shots, but nothing looked spectacular, the sun just couldn't break thru the fog and the low bank of clouds. Finally I pack up and left.
Five minutes later I was driving past the lake when the sun finally broke thru. OMG!!! Fantastic!! I stopped on the side of the road, didn't even have time to use a tripod or anything, just snap two quick shots. It was one of those "oh, if only I could have been set up a couple of minutes earlier" situations.
But I was happy with the way this shot turned out! I think this one turned out a lot better than any would have if I had stayed where I was before. (and I will keep telling myself that)
