The Auroras are just about the same relating to brightness, but the green color is not as deep, although the camera sees the very deep colors. When the lights turn green like that, the whole area you are standing on illuminates with a green glow (the whole area, ground, trees, and so on light up with a green cast). Sometimes the Auroras show several colors: yellow, red, white, green, etc., all moving and blending at high speed.

The only problem is that as you take photos of the Auroras you concentrate on the steps needed to capture the images with your camera, and miss the spectacle taking place in front of you

But well worth the effort!!!!!!!!!!! Your images are outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was lucky the first time I saw them, I didn't have a camera.

My rep picked me up at the Edmonton airport and we were driving into the dity. The whole sky lit up like the opening scenes of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color TV show where TinkerBelle waived her magic wand and the beautiful colors danced. I asked what it was and he said nothing, just teh Northern Lights.

I made him pull off to the side of the highway and an hour and a half later he begged me to get in the car and go in to town,\. He was freezing and I hardly noticed the cold.

I know if I had my camera and tripod I would only have seen it through the viewfinder.
