Nomadicus -- Property in that area and on the Big Island in general really isn't that expensive. Honolulu and O'ahu is what's expensive, and probably Maui too. Can't compare it to FL real estate since there was a major crash, but Denver is more expensive than Kona, HI
This is January in FL of 2007. Who needs a jacket? I miss being in that empty seat up top. In July before this photo was taken I leaned way over the front end of this boat locking my boots to hold be in while I stuck my camera down in a gator nest that had hatching eggs. Mama gator was under the boat having a tantrum. I told the riders that day if anything started pulling me out to grab my legs and not to let go.
As usual, when I do astrophotographs, I get excited when I start working on them, and sometimes (quite often, in fact), I post them before I am entirely satisfied with the result. Such was the case with my submission to this month's photo contest "give us your best shot". After I posted it, I went to bed. When I got up and looked at it again, I was not happy at all with the result. It was blotchy, I used too much noise reduction, and the colors weren't right. So I went back to the original master, and re-processed it using a different work flow. I think the result is much better. What do you think?
I thought I heard my wife asking me if my ex-wife was on my back. Been years since I'd heard from any of them, I was puzzled. Too much plinkin' with Pa and no hearing protection methinks...
