You'll get hammered no matter where you are in Erie. Just be mindful of your surroundings in severe winter weather, and don't try to to hot rod down any of the roads and you should be just fine. Good tires help too.

It honestly isn't that bad. Whenever I was younger, my family would take trips during the winter (Jan-Mar time frame) to splash lagoon overnight. Just make sure that you: A. have good tires, B. Good wipers, and C. Full wiper fluid
Erie is interesting in the winter time given that it is way less crowded outside and you can do a lot more than if you visited during peak season (May-Aug)

Thanks for the advice...I never seen Erie in December and always thought it be cool in the wintertime. There is a decent hotel right on the bay that is offering 40 percent off the regular price for the second night, thought it be cool for when my hubby is off work, to take the famliy, dogs too and just explore the area up there...I esp would love to see the lighthouses, houseboats and beach area when its snowing...but I do fear snow covered roads even when I wouldnt be driving!
Thanks for the input
