They're apparently still around, and still fighting BNY Mellon in court regarding their eviction. For some odd reason they were protesting today about....not corporate greed....but about some guy named Jordan Miles from Homewood that supposedly got beaten up by cops 2 years ago. Huh? What does this have to do with corporate America and the evil, capitalist 1%???

Also, one of the Occupy freaks, apparently the spokesperson or something, said that if they are evicted, they will recite the lyrics to Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" to the police. What this will accomplish is still up for debate. Don't believe the media folks. Occupy Pittsburgh is still relevant and a major, major force in politics. They've totally changed the discussion and they have the 1% right where they want them!

Yeah, they started out as a model branch of the occupy group. Now they're flying further and further off the deep end. So much for maintaining legitimacy.

That being said, isn't there already a thread devoted to this?

Why is there always some sort of "conspiracy" here involving the Pittsburgh Police? I've unfortunately had to deal with our brave women and men behind the badge numerous times since moving here, and each time they've been nothing but professional, courteous, and excellent public servants. I fail to see how a few dozen borderline hipsters (no offense) chanting stuff is going to result in "justice" for an individual who wouldn't have been a "victim" of "police brutality" in the first place had he complied with officers' demands to cease and desist. It's not like rogue cops just drive around undesirable parts of the city looking to beat up minorities for sport.

In November I had the police dispatched to my apartment to question me and was also frisked and escorted off my former employer's property after my heated forced resignation (apparently it's my fault that OTHER people in Pittsburgh can't drive, but I digress). I did nothing wrong other than trying to stand up for myself, yet my employer decided it was most prudent for them to have me well-supervised when turning in my work-related personnel. I was frisked and talked down to like I was a paranoid schizophrenic, but I just went along with the whole process and cooperated fully, even though in my mind I was very unhappy that I was being punished for quite simply having bad luck. End result? I didn't get beaten up by the police. Comply with a police officer's directives as an individual sworn to uphold the law, and you won't be lying in the street after being forcibly detained. Difficult concept for some to comprehend, I suppose.

I don't think anyone does. Not in Pittsburgh nor anywhere else in the country for that matter. But let's not get the fact that we actually have real jobs, work to do and our families to take care of, keep us from stating clearly this very point.

I'll say this again,

I understand that they have issues with our gov't , but as a liberal, I can't take them seriously because they didn't seem to have a focus (more that one issue was confusing) and being ignorant squatters is just plain rude.

It's their right to squat on private property and then sue when the owner tries to evict them?
