A few months ago I posted about the baby land parcel being for sale. It still is. Finally after what, a decade or better, I've lost track, there seems to be some construction going on across the street on the other corner where the old gulf gas station used to be. Anyone have a clue what may be going in there?

I think I heard a long time ago that getgo was interested in that spot. Maybe
For a small grocery store concept? Walmart is also rolling out a bunch of mini groceries in the city. From that corner its a half a mile to all the east in groceries including aldi and bottom dollar when they open.

I don't know if that is the exact site, but the word is Giant Eagle is looking to build a Get Go in East Liberty to relieve traffic at the Morewood location, which is supposedly the busiest in Western PA.

That intersection is going to be a mess.

We need something like this in the area. The Morewood Get Go is constantly packed. I think the Penn/Negley intersection will be able to handle the additional traffic - both streets are four lanes through that area. It will certaily brighten up the crossroads!

The morewood location is a circus. I'm amazed at how busy and understaffed that store is. The one at butler and 40th isnt much better, so it would be nice to have another in the east end. Plus I live there andvitvwould be great to have a 24 option across the street.

A new GetGo to relieve the chronic congestion woes at the Morewood & Baum location in Shadyside (or is it Bloomfield? Bloomyside? Shadyfield?) would be excelsior. I can go there at 10:45 PM on a weeknight after finishing a shift at my second job just to pick up a few staples on my way home and find myself in a lengthy line.

A new Wal-Mart? Blech. Ideally a Sheetz would pounce on that prime site, but a GetGo does indeed seem more likely. I'm not surprised to hear that the Morewood & Baum GetGo is the busiest location; the East End is very densely-populated yet has very few gas stations/convenience stores per capita.

I hope it's not a GetGo. At least not one with a big parking lot or anything. There is already a Sunoco about 100 feet walking distance from that lot. Not only that but there is the locally-owned Grocery Kart one block up Penn Ave. I live right around that intersection. That is too prime of an opportunity to help close the gap between East Liberty and the Penn Ave Arts district to squander on a GetGo.
