Detroit only has about 900,000 people but has a very high crime rate but i guess thats not bad because it has less people than less say New York... lol right...
Nobody said "Pittsburgh is the safest city" so what are you talking about? I and others have pointed out that a metropolitan area and a city aren't the same, and so far you haven't shown you understand the difference.

The concept of "per capita" seems to be escaping you.

I know they arent the same. Im just pointing out what people arent pointing out. I understand what per capita means. Im just showing the stats and peoples experiences since ive been living here and englewood chicago most of my life. Not trying to start an arguement i just want the truth to come out. Go to other cities and you will surely find out instead of the news and people crunching numbers if needed more proof. But thank you for the input

Stats without context isn't "the truth". This is exactly why many people (erroneously) say that "stats can't be trusted". They're nothing without context.

Well i just posted the stats if you bothered to look at it... U can still search them also if you live here watch the news or anything. But i understand what you are talking about i dont care for statistics since i have to live in these types of neighborhoods. All im trying to say without being there people cannot judge or trust other judgement because most of the type when i see things in braddock it never shows up on the news or anything. Its a town nobody cares about. Unlike englewood where i live now it shows up. But it has plenty of context to people who live here instead of just reading about it

You know, I was thinking of mentioning that someone in Englewood and someone in Lincoln Park are totally going to read those Chicago stats differently, depending on how closely they reflect their own perceived reality (read: Not At All), but I thought it would be kind of an obnoxious thing to say. People may care more about Englewood or Back of the Yards than Braddock or various neighborhoods in the Pgh, but my experience is mostly they throw their hands up, decide they can't do anything, and hope nobody sets the city on fire. Anyway, people have wildly different perceptions of how "safe" a city is that has not much of anything to do with those stats.

Point is people will see things differently based on the things they go through and see than so the people looking outside in and just read the paper and/or stats. From what i hear in braddock is that the steel mill is to blame for the shape its in. It went down but the crack epidemic started and thats what really set it off. You dont think it looked like that because of the steel mill do you? Braddock looks like its been set on fire lol. But im guessing you live in Pgh but nothing ever happened to you so to you Pittsburgh is very safe. Im just showing those stats to people that dont live in the neighborhood and keep saying any proof. Like the FBI or anybody is there, in those neighborhoods. If you read that at all
