I never drive on a steep hill in icy weather. I find a different route utilizing mostly level roadways, otherwise I don't go there.

My 77 Chrysler New Yorker and 75 Ford Elite were the best cars I have ever owned. The Chrysler was 25 years old and had well over 100k miles on it when I owned it but still was bulletproof reliable. The Ford was a low mileage original and drove like a dream. I hated the 79 Malibu wagon, though.

Northern West Virginians, maybe. The ones around Charleston, unless they are Yankee transplants, bow to the ice and snow and take the opportunity to stay home and/or go in to work late, after the roads have been cleared. That's probably why vehicles colliding with houses and other buildings is practically unheard of in Charleston, WV, even though it's right hilly everwhar 'cept down by the river.
