Forecasted for 41F and showers.

I recognize there are challenges in putting together 162-game schedule across 30 teams, but there's got to be a way to push off home openers in northern cities for a week or more into the season.

Anyone going?

I had a streak of 30 years, but I'm so ticked off at the Nuttings I no longer attend the opener. Or any other game unless I get free tickets.

Have tickets but not going... we will probably trade them in for a later date.

Saw them down here in Sarasota. Guess I should start getting used to freezing at the games instead of sweating at the games!

what would pushing the schedule back a week do for them? I was not aware that the second week of April was tropical when compared to the first.

Historically April 8 is 2F higher than April 1. It's something.

I know it's just the Pirates, but people do manage to happily sit through Steelers games in freezing sleet and other winter weather, so a little unseasonal chill shouldn't cause too many problems.

There is a different expectation for baseball, a summer sport, than for football, a fall/winter sport.
