Perhaps in 40 or 50 years, language will change back, or change to something else.
OK, point taken. I hate hearing the word "retard" when people refer to someone or say "That's so retarded!". If they someone mentally handicapped in their family they would realize how insensitive that is.

Sealie, your use of the words "mongoloid" and "retarded" offends me more than anything this woman may have done to or with her mons pubis. The Catholic Church...ugh. If only they'd overreacted this way over the priest>>>>>altar boy scandal over the decades. Nothing this girl -- or her boyfriend -- did comes close.

I can think of worse things. Just make her do some community service...then forget about it.

Can't really blame them. Insult Islam and you are targeted for death...literally.

Wasn't me. I don't have a dog in the fight.

It was the racial terminology used in the 19th century:

Negroid: black
Mongoloid: East/Central Asian

It means "resembling a Mongol" and is now considered archaic at best and offensive at worst.

Spare me the "I'm offended for someone else" rhetoric here. I'm not gonna apologize for my use of words here to pacify anyone's sense of politically correct importance.

It's so funny to me how this is becoming a freedom of speech / religious debate, when in my eyes it just appears like one (or two...Didn't hear about her boyfriend until recently) CMU hipster idiot had a little too much blow for breakfast and decided to be even more "unique" than she / they attempt to be in an average day.

Seriously, she had shaved a Pens or Steeler emblem, not a problem.

Actually, you offended almost everyone who posted in this thread.

How could you not know about the boyfriend? He is in the article you linked. That's how I learned about him. I read the article. Didn't you read it?

Why are you so riled up over people walking to the beat of a different drummer? Is it too hard to live your own life without judging theirs?

If you think their antics were all about trying to get attention, you're sure falling into their trap by giving them so much attention.
